Dawn Reception House
New Dawn Reception House: is SISO's new community vision that will answer the ever-growing need of providing quality re-settlement services. Current existing resources are no longer adequate to meet the needs of refugees who often arrive in Canada from highly traumatic war-torn regions. Survivors of such horrific experiences, especially their children need more comprehensive and stable support.
We have launched a Community Campaign to raise $6 million dollars to help build a multiple family housing facility specifically to help new Refugee and Immigrant families. This welcome house will help transition Refugees & Immigrants into our culture within a harmless, supportive, educational facility located in downtown Hamilton.
The New Dawn Reception House will accommodate multiple refugees and new immigrant families within a safe, cultural learning environment in Hamilton. The house will include living quarters for up to 30 families,
social sharing rooms, and prayer rooms, healthcare rooms for visiting physicians, an Art Therapy Centre, and indoor/outdoor play areas for children.
There will also be common areas for
qualified
staff to deliver on-site language training, employment assistance and day-to-day living skills training and more.
The New Dawn Reception House will be the House that Hamilton builds - we encourage all Hamiltonians whether individuals or corporate businesses to give generously to this campaign, to help our new refugees and immigrants settle into a prosperous life in Hamilton.
