'First Lady of Jazz' to serenade Winston Tinglin!

October 18, 2004, Hamilton, Ontario-On October 29th, 2004, 6.00 p.m., LIUNA Station will be alive with sounds and faces from around the world as Master of Ceremonies Bob Bratina, and friends and colleagues gather to celebrate the public life contributions of Winston Tinglin who retired on July 31st, 2004.
The Hon. Lincoln Alexander is Patron of the evening and the event will be hosted by the Settlement and Integration Services Organization (SISO) with support from notable community organizations.
You will not want to miss a line-up of great performers including the incomparable Salome Bey with ensemble, saxaphonist Doug Richardson and the Bobby Dean Blackburn and Sons band. Also on hand will be the sensational Colombian Prints, a folkloric dance group and the memorable Zaheera Yusuf and Ayesha Mary Matthews.
Net proceeds from this fund-raising event will be matched by the Settlement and Integration Services Organization (SISO) and will be designated to a new community initiative. This initiative will honour the life and work of Winston Tinglin. Plans for this initiative will be unveiled at the event.
